Albert C. Ramos, 91, of East Moline, IL, passed away Friday April 12, 2024, at University of Iowa Medical Center, Iowa City.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to services at the church. The funeral mass will be live-streamed and may be viewed on the church's website, christthekingmoline.org Burial, with military honors, will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline.
Albert was born May 6, 1932, in Chillicothe, Illinois, son of Soledad and Julia Razo Ramos. He married Sara V. Martel on May 5, 1956, in Silvis, IL.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, served during the Korean War. He retired from Case IH in 1988. He was a member of the East Moline V.F.W., American Legion and Christ the King Catholic Church.
Albert was much loved by his community, known as Uncle Al by many, he is remembered for his outgoing spirit that touched everyone he met. His warmth and generosity enriched the lives of family and friends, leaving cherished memories.
Surviving are his wife, Sara, of East Moline; sons, Timothy (Skylar) Ramos, Hoodsport, WA; and Randy (Denise) Ramos, East Moline, son-in-law, Mike O’Sullivan, Hamilton, Ohio. Grandchildren, Jessica Ramos, Nicholas (Lindsey) Ramos, Heather (Paul) Ramos, Brooke (Daniel) Ramos Fritz, Brandi (Dario) Cruz, and Ryan Ramos. Great-grandchildren, Noah, Nico, Jose, Jzonei, Jazmyne, Jalen, Javi, Lilliana, Liam, Sofia, and Nora. Sisters, Joann Adams, Dora Gonzalez, and Rachel Espinosa; and numerous, nieces, nephews, and additional family.
Albert was preceded in death by his children Phyllis and Gary; his parents, Soledad and Julia; sisters, Bea, Lupe, and Mary; and brothers, Jesse and Alfred.
