Daniel Lindell

Daniel D. Lindell, 82, of Silvis, IL, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Genesis Silvis. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Friday April 12, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Private graveside services will be held at Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, IL. Dan was born September 17, 1941, in Moline, IL, the son of Warren and Grace McCauley Lindell. He married Sharon K. Launius. She passed away January 13, 1995. He later married Marlene Skinner. She passed away September 26, 2022. Dan worked for Farmall and retired from Navistar in Ohio. After retirement he worked as a security guard for the Isle of Capri for 16 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of the Moose, where he served in many capacities including District President and Governor. He was an avid bowler, an Illini fan, and a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Survivors include his daughter, Michelle (Gregg) Martin, Silvis; stepdaughters, Jill (Walter) Coussens, Cordova, IL, Janna (Charlie) Cox, Davenport, IA, JoEtta Catterton, Moline, and Jina (Larry) Newman, Andover, IL; grandchildren, Autumn (“Nacho”) Gonzalez, Valarie Vols, and Jeremy (Taylor) Vols, Casey Coussens, Charles Cox Jr., Katie Cox, Kendra (Kevin) Hackett, Corey (Danielle) Catterton, Lara (Nate) Henry, Luke Newman,; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Linda) Lindell, Daytona Beach, FL; many nieces and nephews; and a “special daughter”, Michele Womack. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, wives, grandchildren, Bobby Byrne and Thomas Newman; and siblings, Lois Coleman, Larry Lindell, and Bonnie Ewing. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.
